FAQ

  • What is a Southern Cross Bulldog?
The Southern Cross Bulldog is a very new breed still in its infancy stages of development. The ideal breed percentage to maintain type is 70-80% British Bulldog. The Southern Cross Bulldog is a well boned, muscular, medium-large sized dog with a powerful build showing strength. The breed was created and named in 2007 by Tina & Noel Green to develop a blue line of bulldogs in Australia from masitff origins. The aim was to create a larger bulldog well suited to the harsh Australian climate, drawing on both the charm and personality of the British Bulldog and the magestic and noble strength of the mastiff breeds, but improving on general health and functionality. Foundation bitches used are generally Neapolitan Mastiff or Dogue de Bordeaux for their size and structure being put back to high percentage or pure British Bulldogs studs to enhance the desired bulldog type. The desired percentage of a Southern Cross Bulldog should remain 61.75% - 87.5% British Bulldog Blood, anything above or below these percentages is considered a foundation generation.
  • What is an Aussie Bulldog?
The Aussie (Australian Bulldog) was founded in the 1990's by Tina & Noel Green with the intentions of creating a Bulldog larger in appearence than a British Bulldog and smaller than a Bullmastiff, that could handle the harsh Australian climate and one that Australia could call its own. The British Bulldog and Bullmastiff were chosen as the main preference for foundation parents behind the Aussie Bulldog because of their compatability and similarities. Aussie Bulldogs are functional, durable and dependable. They are an impressive Bulldog with their key attributes being their large head circumfrence and heavy boned structure. The desired percentage as per the founders of the breed is 75%-87.5% British Bulldog blood, anything below or above is considered a foundation generation. The Aussie Bulldog should have its own unique appearence or a nice mix between the British Bulldog and Bullmastiff, it should not replicate in appearence that of a British Bulldog.
  • What is the price of an Arcadian Bulldog?
Our puppies for standard colours start at $3500, we price our pups based on the rarity of their colours understanding the desire of our buyers wanting a unique looking and striking dog, because certain colours and patterns don't pop up as often as standard colours they are priced accordingly. We specialise in Dilutes such as blues and lilacs as well as tri's (3 colours) and merles, all of which are on the higher end of the pricing, for accurate pricing please contact us.
  • What does the Percentage of a Bulldog mean?
The Percentage of a Southern Cross Bulldog or an Aussie Bulldog dictates how much British Bulldog blood is in any particular dog. The desired amount for a pet should be between 75% and 87.5% for an Aussie and 61.75% and 87.5% for a Southern Cross Bulldog. If your dog is under or above these percentage it is classed as a foundation generation. The more British Bulldog blood injected into the line the more the dog will mimic and replicate that of the British Bulldog including some of the same defective issues that are apparent in the purebred British Bulldog.

At this time we do not accept visitors that are just wanting to come and see the puppies at our property, we are more than happy to do live video of pups and send images but due to multiple contamination reasons we have decided to discontinue visitors. We also take the health of our puppies extremely seriously and understand the spread of viral disease to young un-immunised pups is an extremely high risk and it is because of this we do not have the general public handling our precious young pups. We do regular weekly updates for buyers so they can see their puppies milestones.
